History of America's Best Karate

3-time World Champion Master Anthony Chan and 5-time World Champion George Chung founded America’s Best Karate in 1982 in the city of Los Gatos, CA where the school is still in operation. America’s Best Karate gained notoriety through teaching professional athletes such as Joe Montana, Dwight Clark, and Ronnie Lott of the San Francisco 49’ers as well as other famous martial artists like Cynthia Rothrock and Larry Lam.
Building on their reputation, America’s Best Karate, Inc., grew to 11 schools and had success in both California and Nevada. In the mid 90’s they consolidated their efforts to work on media projects resulting in the Emmy award winning show called “Adventures with Kanga Roddy”. The 2 founders have since decided to focus their efforts on other projects and have withdrawn from the America’s Best Karate in their operations.
