UMA is a mind and body practice for adults and children, beginners or athletes, designed to build strength, flexibility, endurance and focus.
It may also help manage pain, rehabilitate injuries and reduce stress.

Where did UMA come from?
In 2024 while staying in a small mountain village in the Balkans I was approached by three different people in the course of one week, all three spoke to me about various injuries and health concerns and asked for my help.

I had been teaching martial arts for decades and having training children, senior citizens, law enforcement officers and professional athletes, I had lots of experience with functional movement, strength, conditioning and flexibility training, so I sat down and started to create a new program. I began drawing on my vast experience teaching fitness and healthy lifestyle practices as well as helping people rehabilitate injuries, considering that teaching children required fun and engaging activities.
Knowing that martial arts training was intimidating for some people and disciplines like yoga could also be esoteric and not necessarily fun, I wanted to create something both helpful, approachable, dynamic and fun.

UMA is the culmination of thirty years of practice and passionate teaching with one purpose: fun and functional fitness for all.

UMA focuses on the Eight great attributes:
Strength
Coordination
Flexibility
Balance
Stamina
Mental focus
Mental cognition
Emotional health
